Intergenerational Communication Meeting-I was completed successfully

Different persons from different cities were gathered by this meeting on Zoom.
This first Intergenerational Communication Meeting mentioned here as a part of advocacy activities*, was held today-27 March 2024 between 13:00-14:30, by the LGBTI+ Aging Studies Programme of May 17 Association.
This meeting, which 28 persons applied for registration beforehand and 18-21 persons of them attended to, provided a sincere and warm atmosphere to all the participants of the event.
Two different activists from two different age groups attended the event as spokespersons. This event, which brought together these activists in their 20s and 40s, highlighted a contrast between where we were 30 years ago and where we are now regarding LGBTI+ activism. Subjects like observations on the activisms of two different age groups, the similarities and differences between the past and the present, how come the needs of LGBTI+ persons in different generations have evolved over time, how the movement has met these needs, the socialization needs of LGBTI+ persons, promising elements from past to present in activism and personal lives, friendship-romantic relationships- bonds, and imaginations for the future were discussed during the event.
After the Q&A session, the event was over.
The second of this event will take place in April 2024.
* These advocacy studies of LGBTI+ Aging Studies Programme planned between February and May 2024 will be hold within the scope of the "Advancing the rights of LGBTI+ in Turkey" project supported by ILGA Europe.
