Registration for the Climate Justice, Gender and Climate Change Panel has Started! - May 17 Association

As the very first NGO working in Turkey on the intersection between LGBTI+ community, climate change and climate justice, the 17 May Association continues its climate studies and organizes a new panel. 17 May Association’s “climate justice, gender and climate change” panel will take place on 15 December 2022 between 14:45 and 18:00.


In the panel, firstly, Özge Gökpınar, 17 May Association’s LGBTI+ Aging and Climate Studies Program Coordinator, will provide an insight of the climate studies and previous activities held in that regard. Then, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Algan from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration will provide a presentation on how Turkey addresses climate change, the experiences and the issue of climate justice. Lastly, Dr. Ezgi Kovancı from Adıyaman University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration will provide a presentation on gender analysis of climate change.


After the panel, participants will be able to visit the exhibition held within the scope of the Climate Studies program of the 17 May Association called “Fawns, children, flowers, flames”, the reception of which will be held on this Friday on 9 December 2022 and which will be open between 9-23 December 2022.
